Mama Don't Play That!

Tough love is what this country needs more of...it's unreal what you see & hear kids getting away with nowadays...sometimes I feel like smacking a kid, when I see him/her disrespecting their parents in public, and all that gets said is "do you need a time out?"...ok, maybe the parent should be slapped for handing over control.

My folks were always sneaky about putting a beat down on me (in public). For example, if we were at a department store, and I was acting a fool, my Mom would have an urgent need for me to try a shirt on, in the dressing room where no one could see us...it only took one of those 'lessons' for me to learn how NOT to act in public.

You just know that the teen in the pics above is hating his mama right about now, but someday he'll thank her for it....go mama!!

Its good to see a parent trying her best to prevent her son from becoming a future thug.

Like you, my parents had no issues with reminding me who was boss. And if we were in public I chose to act a fool, my mother would tell me "You're gonnaa GET IT when we get home" and I knew she wasn't playin'.

Kids need a taste of reality sometimes. At the time I thought my mother was being a little hard on me for wanting a small fee for rent and making me pay my auto insurance after I turned 18. But looking back its what taught me to be responsible and appreciate the the little things today. Mother's are sometimes tough on us because they love us very much.

Good daddy's do the same things too! yep that would be you Mr!

daaaaaaamn. That momma sure knows how to teach a lesson. I love that she's sitting there in the chair watching to make sure he doesn't sneak off. Brutal!

My dad was the only one who would do the smack down.

My mom relied on head games.

Which is worse?

I dunno.

I still can't wrap my head around these two news item,

1. 6 teenage girl beat one girl senseless and continued to beat her after her first concussion. Then filmed the whole event, and posted it on youtube/myspace.

2. two teenagers, 17 and 18 at the time, killed a man, cut off his head and torched the body and dumped the remains in the woods. After the killing, they went to Taco Bell and ate.

I was brought up in the troubles of Northern Ireland. My parents brought me up with tough love as they didn't want us getting into any trouble when we were young growing up in such a volatile community. I like to think I turned out ok. I think more kids need some tough loving. Embarrassing the hell out of them usually works lol

I'm a true believer that fear can motivate...isn't that what governments do time and time again?

I never got a public beat down. At the barest HINT of acting up, I would get the question... "Do you want to go home??"

NO. I did NOT want to go home to be spanked and put in my room.

He'll either turn around, or rebel even more . . . I'm the type that the harder you push me NOT to do something, the more I'll want to do it!

Yep, kids these days could use a beating. What can really a "time out" do? But then, I heard here in the states people can call the cops on you if you slap your child or something..

I got some spanking here and there :D One time, a man not even in my family whacked me in the head with a rubber tire. Mann, that hurt like hell but I didn't tell my mom since i wasn't supposed to have done it in the first place hehe.
