Happy 7th of July!

Someone in my neighborhood thinks that it's cute to shoot off bottle rockets, fire crackers, and Piccolo Pete's at 2:00 in the morning, on a Sunday night....(technically Monday morning). They did this last night as well as on the previous Sunday (June 29th)....bastards!

If I wasn't so tired/hopped up on pain killers last night, I would've reached for the phone & called the po-po, but I had no idea where the fireworks were coming from and wasn't 100% sure that I wasn't dreaming the whole thing up.

The need for pain-killers was due to a pinched nerve in my upper back, that I had had for nearly a week. By Friday night, the pain had become constant and really f*ckin annoying. As of today, the pain is almost completely gone...no need to send flowers.

The 3-day weekend flew by way too fast, but it was pretty relaxing, despite the back pain (I swear my body is revolting against me lately!). I have a feeling that this week is going to be a short one too, as I MAY call in sick on Friday. I'm going to see Yaz (or Yazoo if you're outside of the US) at the Orpheum on Friday...I can't wait !

My neighbors held their 4th of July celebration on Sunday night as well. But I think it's because they are Jewish so they couldn't do anything from sundown Friday through sundown Saturday. SO they just moved it to Sunday so everyone could come over.

I've got concerts up the wazoo as I am seeing Yaz this Thursday because I have something to go to at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday.

Let's compare notes over the weekend?

How rude! To be Piccolo Peteing at such an early time.

Sorry to hear of your back pain. No fun.

I used to love that band. When I lived in Japan, they were Yazoo, I was like WTF? I am sure theyw ill put on a great concert. Alison's voice is amazing. So is the Orpheum.

David: I couldn't take the anticipation so I checked them out on YouTube already...bad I know, but they sounded great, despite the crappy "video" qulaity.

Jim: awww...the joys of living in Hollywood...yes, we'll compare notes on Saturday...what are you wearing????

Dit: Never been to the Orpheum before, but I've seen some photos recently...looks gorgeous!

I'm convinced we live in a place where a magial confluence causes our homes to exist in the same neighborhood.

Back pain is a bitch! I have my own issues - but luckily regular chiropractic and massage keep them in check. I think the 4th of July crap is the same everywhere - here they start 2 days before and go for 2 days afterwards...ugh!

I haven't got it all planned out yet, but here's where I will start...

I know it's supposed to be incredibly HOT that day. I believe the Orpheum may not have the most powerful A/C. So I will wear something light and breathable, but no hotpants or tank top.

So I am guessing jeans, cute belt, button up shirt with sleeves rolled up. And for kicks, I'm thinking silver disco boots.

What about you?

Yazoo? Really? With Alyson Moyet? I'm sooo jealous!
And why are they called Yaz in the US?

Yaz!! I'm envious!!!!

'Yazoo's initial foray into the US was disastrous when they received a £3.5 million lawsuit threat over the band's name; Yazoo subsequently renamed to Yaz for the US market because the name was already in use by a small American rock band.'

From Wikipedia.

I had a 'public disturbance' happen outside my window at 2 AM on Saturday morning.

I called the po po because this drunk guy was attacking this other guy in a truck with a shovel.

Feel better yo!

Ouch...I hate back pain. But, you can always tell people that you hurt your back during sex. That'll be a great ice breaker.

As for the Orpheum, it's a grand old theater. I think you'll like it, though it's in kind of a bad neighborhood. But, at least Kathy Griffin tapes some of her specials there!!!

"Hold on... Hold on... Won't be long now! The only way is up...Baby... You and me now..." Owait, wrong group! ahaha I don't think Yaz[oo] is gonna play Winter Kills!! dratz!

Have fun!!

Sorry to hear of your pinched nerve buddy *ouch* I have to say I hate everything about fireworks, I don't mind watching them on tv but I just hate them in every way and the dogs we have hate them too. They go mental when there are fire works and then we are awake all night trying to clam them down :-(

Sorry to hear about the pinched nerve in your back. Hope it clears up soon.

Call me an old man, but if someone was shooting off fireworks at 2am I'd have called the po-po pronto.

Mark :-)
