Prop 8 National Protest Day: LBC

...

Saturday morning found me at Long Beach City Hall, to join the rest of the country (as well as some international folks) protesting the passing of Prop 8. I was really (pleasantly) surprised at the number of people that showed up, despite all of the falling ash from the California wildfires & warm Santa Ana winds that were blowing all of that nasty ash.

My only complaint about the event is that the area where the rally was staged, was in an enclosed courtyard that was invisible to anyone passing by...other than that, it was a pretty good (peaceful) protest.

These are truly amazing & historic times that we're living in. Here are a couple of pics and a video of Long Beach's rally:

We were there, probably standing just to your right based on the two pics.

I joined a very chilly couple of thousand marchers at the rally in Chicago's Loop district.

It was an awesome experience!

What a wonderful video!!! I was probably standing next to you at one time too. I was standing next to the guy with the Tammy Fay sign for a while..I left soon after Lowenthal's speech (bonnie) air was bad. Us Long Beach Blogger need to meet up.
