Supping in Silence

The other night, I went to dinner with a friend, at a great little Italian restaurant [Vino & Cucina ]. The food was Da Bomb and so was the vino...if you're ever in this part of the LBC you should give it a try. But this post isn't so much about how good the food was....no, this post is about a young couple that caught my attention.

There was a young couple sitting in my direct line of sight, and what fascinated me was that the entire time that they were in the restaurant, they didn't speak to each other....well, that is, not until their dinners showed up. From what my sleuthing eye could deduce, they weren't angry with each other. They just sat there, looking out the window, at the ceiling tiles, or at the floor. No eye contact, no under the table fondling, no suggestive tongue teasing....so Un-Gay.

Seriously, I just don't understand how 2 people sitting directly across from each other could go almost an entire meal without speaking to each other. When they did speak, it was in hushed tones, so that the homo checking them out all night couldn't make out what the hell they were saying. So frustrating!

I pray to Baby Jebus that my relationship never gets so old, that we run out of things to say to each other...or make suggestive expressions to each other, in a room full of heteros.

that's sweet, but I have a husband.

That's a long-term relationship. And probably not a good one.

Kevin: Perhaps I was asking Poodle out...

M Guy: The funny thing is that they each looked barely 21 yrs old. Maybe I'm just a chatterbox.

Very strange. And kind of creepy.

I guess they've figured out that they're both just too boring to bother talking to.

Nice that they found each other though, isn't it?

I can't imagine you without something interesting to say, so I wouldn't worry about that. ;-)
